Committees/Members (General)
Below are the list of current committees and a general list of expectations of committee members that are only "best practice" guidelines and may or may not require the entire scope below
Role of committee members:
- Understand the nature and scope of work assigned by the board of directors
- Learn committee objectives and goals
- Attend and actively participate in all scheduled committee meetings and conference calls
- Offer unbiased recommendations and work for the good of the organization and membership
- Execution of assigned tasks
- Respond to communications from chair and other members in a timely manner
- Provide input to the association and/or committee leadership upon request
- Review supplied materials for discussion (if any) prior to meetings or conference calls
- Seek guidance and direction from committee chair
- Report to committee chair
- Participate in committee meetings
Chair responsibilities:
- Works with the assigned committee and members to determine meeting dates at the beginning of the year or as needed
- Identifies agenda items for each meeting or conference call
- Leads discussion during committee meetings and conference calls
- Where only a chair exists, follows through on all tasks related to the appointed role by the associations board of directors
Vice-chair responsibilities:
- Takes notes during meetings and conference calls
- Provides final notes for distribution to the committee members
- Serves as chair when the chair is absent
Member
- Participates on tasks/assignments
- Helps with providing feedback and direction within the committee and to the Committee Chair
